I Read in my Bible, a story so dear,
And one just so sad that the angels shed tears
How the world’s gone so dirty, of man’s sins so great
That it took God’s own Son
To wipe clean the slate,
I’m following my Jesus every step of the way
For He’ll lead me safely each night and each day
I’m walking in His footsteps and I pray everyday
I’m following my Jesus He has shown me the way
I can just hear the angels how they beg and pray
And cry over God, Let me go and see
But God knew the answer and what must be done.
There was heartache in heaven
That He sent His own Son.
Now the angels are singing all around that great throne;
For the one that they loved so
Has now come back home;
He came down to this world;
Gave all He could give then ascended to heaven,
The we all may live.
